CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) is a form of time based psychotherapy which focuses on the relationship between our thinking, how this contributes to how we feel, and our corresponding behaviour e.g. repeated unhelpful negative thinking or behaviour patterns. CBT Sessions support the client in establishing more supportive ways of thinking, thereby improving feelings and creating an improved approach to relationships and situations in daily life.
EMDR - Scientific research has established EMDR as effective in treatment of past disturbing experiences/memories that may continue to distress the individual or cause a block in approaches to situations and individual relationships. This reprocessing of negative self beliefs or disturbing memories allows healing at a physiological, emotional and thought processing level to enable the individual to adaptively respond to situations and relationships in the present.
